Did you know that Authors' Allies has a podcast?

Don't worry, you didn't miss much as it's new just this year.

In today's episode, we are diving into the world of books (and brew) with a very special guest, Dr. Tracy Shroyer. Tracy is a business professor, career coach, author, and breast cancer survivor with an impressive 27-year background in the corporate sector. She transitioned to academia and became an assistant professor of business, but faced a layoff in 2023 that inspired her to write her second book, "The Ultimate Job Search."

Throughout our conversation, Tracy shares her insights on writing, marketing, and managing a career in transition. We discuss her first book, "Managing Layoffs," which offers a manager's perspective on handling layoffs, and her plans for a new book that combines her management research with her personal experience as an employee affected by layoffs.

Tracy also shares her writing process, the importance of using templates and marketing resources, and the value of building a platform as an author. We talk about strategies for repurposing content, maintaining consistency in communication, and the benefits of joining supportive communities like the Authors Allies group.

In addition to her writing and academic career, Dr. Tracy manages Facebook and LinkedIn groups for career development and is working on a new project to assist laid-off individuals. She also shares her appreciation for the support from the Authors' Allies RoundTable program.

As the host of the Authors' Allies RoundTable, I share some of the resources and strategies we offer to support authors, particularly female independent and hybrid published authors. We discuss the importance of having a marketing plan and the benefits of being part of a close-knit, interactive community.

Whether you're an aspiring author, a job seeker, or simply looking for inspiration and guidance in your career, this episode is packed with valuable insights and practical tips. So grab your favorite beverage, get comfortable, and join us for this engaging conversation with Dr. Tracy Shroyer.
