My 2025 Personal Development Journey: The Books That Shaped My Year

Cozy reading nook with open book, coffee, and glasses on a table. Text reads: "The Books That Shaped My Year: My 2025 Journey."

Personal development has always been a pillar of my life. There is something incredibly grounding about dedicated time spent learning, unlearning, and expanding my perspective through the words of others, especially through books. However, I’ll be the first to admit that this year felt a little different. As "menopause brain" officially moved in, I noticed that my focus wasn’t always what it used to be. The mental fog is real, and sometimes sitting down with a physical book felt like an uphill battle against my own wandering mind.

Despite those challenges, I refused to let my growth hit a plateau. I’ve become immensely grateful for the world of audiobooks; they have been my absolute saving grace this year. Being able to "read" while driving to meetings or tackling a mountain of cleaning or cooking has allowed me to stay consistent even when my brain feels a bit scrambled. If you’ve been struggling to find your rhythm lately, let this be your sign that it’s okay to change up how you consume information—the growth counts just as much, whether you’re turning pages or hitting "play."
