Social Graphics for Authors

Authors of books have to juggle a lot of tasks when it comes to promoting their books. One of the most important tasks is creating social media, email, and ad graphics that stand out and grab attention.

Social media graphics and videos are becoming increasingly important for authors of books. They are a great way to promote their work and engage with their audience. With the help of social media, authors can quickly reach out to potential readers and get them interested in their books.

Graphics and videos also provide authors with an opportunity to showcase their creativity. They can create unique visuals that capture the essence of their books, making it easier for readers to connect with them on a deeper level and understand what the books are about.

By leveraging the power of social media graphics and social video, authors can make sure that they are making the most out of all the channels available to them to promote their books. This will help them increase their visibility and reach more people who might be interested in reading their books.

However, while important, creating graphics can be a daunting task for some authors who are not familiar with graphic design programs. Fortunately, there are easy-to-use graphic programs like Canva and Adobe Spark or Adobe Express (free) that make creating stunning visuals easy and fun! With these tools, authors can easily create graphics for their social media posts with minimal effort.

Both programs have free versions available and have many tutorials to help get you acquainted with how they work. In addition, there are easy-to-use templates so you don't have to think too far outside the box. If you're an author looking to promote your book online, these programs are definitely worth checking out!

As far as social videos go, Canva also works well for that. If you are already using Canva, it can be an easy switch for you to dive into their video options to create vertical videos that look good on mobile phones. If you are more of a phone user to create your graphics there are many apps out there to help. One of my favorites is Capcut. Capcut is fairly easy to use once you get the hang of it and the free version even allows for captioning your videos. That's important since most people watch with their phones on silent. And, let's not forget that if you are using Instagram or TikTok, the apps themselves have pretty many options for creating in-app videos on the go. My friend Crissy Conner did a great little YouTube video tutorial on adding the captions.

Authors can use social media graphics and social videos to make their books stand out from the competition and reach new audiences. By creating engaging visuals that embody their message, they can build a loyal fan base and increase book sales.

P.S. One other place to use graphics is in your Amazon A+ content. Did you know they changed the way your author page works? Get my FREE Amazon Profile Checklist here.
